Table Decorations & Centrepieces
Product code: ART001When it comes to choosing table decorations & centrepieces for your event there are a whole raft of options available.
For me, the first consideration is the type of event the
time of day it is taking place. Is it a day time corporate event? A wedding breakfast that goes into an evening
reception? A charity ball or swanky
If your event is a day time corporate event then consider
what sort of event it is. Is it
informational, inspirational, celebratory? An informational event would possibly require a table centrepiece that
is low and understated that simply brightens up the table but is by no means a
focal point so table decoration would be kept to a minimum.
An inspirational or celebratory daytime event could handle
something that stands out a little more, maybe a brightly coloured floral table
centre but again I would opt for something that is low on the table and I
wouldn’t add any additional table decorations.
A wedding on the other hand is a very different affair often
needs to take a daytime event into the evening when lighting can really come
into its own. It is vitally important
that your guests can see and converse with each other over the table so be sure
that the table centrepiece does not obscure anyone’s view.
Consider the room itself. Does it have very high or very low ceilings? If it does then very tall table centrepieces
can work superbly in both these extremes. To make your table centre really
stand out during the evening, add lighting to it. This can be as simple as having a light
inserted into your table centrepiece itself in the form of a floralyte (some
can be submersed in water too), an LED lightbase that your table centrepiece
would sit on, or you could go the whole hog and invest in pinspotting which is
a professional lighting system that trains a bright white spot light on each of
your table centrepieces. Amazing! Additional
table decorations can add even more sparkle to your table. The quickest and most cost effective are tea lights
and table crystals. Both of these can be
hired or purchased in colours that tie in with the rest of your colour scheme
or you could opt for the clear variety.
Your table stationery will also add a decorative touch to
your table and there are so many beautiful options to choose from!
Charity Balls give you the chance to really go to town! Here you want colour & drama after all
you will probably want your guests to really get in the party mood and part
with their hard earned cash in favour of your charity.
Personally I would opt for a tall table centrepiece that
will really knock your guests’ socks off as they enter the room as this will
set the scene for the event as a whole. If you can, light up your table centrepieces too. The table centrepiece style will depend on
the type of event it is. If you are
organising a smart black tie ball then you will want something to mirror the
sophistication of the event. There are
some beautiful tall floral table centrepieces you can opt for. If it is a themed event then you can have
great fun choosing a table centre that is themed around the event. Again, like a wedding you can then team up
table decorations as well. From the
table stationery (place cards, table names/numbers etc) to napkin rings.
Hopefully that will help create a stunning table using creative table decorations & centrepieces!
